 The Windows 10 preview app, Phone Insider has just been renamed to match its Windows counterpart. Now the app allows you to login with both your Microsoft account as opposed to only the domain account. The good news here is that Microsoft is still on track to deliver the first Windows 10 for Phones build after next week. We should warn here that this is very different from the preview for developers program which offers RTM builds early. This offers preview builds which may interfere with the ability of your phone to function normally and you should make sure you have backed up before you try it.  The bad news is that not all Windows Phones which will make the cut, at least for this initial update.  The Lumia Denim update release has been quite staggered so far and unlike Lumia Cyan, we have hardly seen mass updates for one particular model. The trend continues.  Lumia 1520 and Lumia 930 are now receiving Lumia Denim update in many Middle east markets including UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Yemen, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain.   Microsoft has announced the results of their last quarter ending Q4 2014. Of relevance to Windows Phone fans is that Phone Hardware revenue of $2.3 billion, with 10.5 million Lumia units sold driven by growth in affordable smartphones. The number is up from 9.3 million in Q3 2014 and 8.2 million in Q4 20133. Revenue is however down from $2.6 billion, due to the loss of around $650 million in licensing revenue from Nokia after the acquisition. This would be the first time more than 10 million Windows Phones had been sold in a quarter, the IDC notes 20 quarters after the launch of the OS. Android did the same in 7 quarters, and iOS in 14. Microsoft also sold 39.7 million non-Lumia phones, down from previous years as the world transition to smartphones. Windows 10 for phones will bring an updated keyboard for even more efficiency for all users. Joe Belfiore showed how users can drag up from the space bar to change the location of the keybo ard and change its’ size for those will smaller hands. Also, you will now be able to type out messages via Cortana, which can be accessed by a small button above the keyboard. The keyboard also has a small circle between the Z and X keys which Joe Belfiore didn’t bring up.

Microsoft today unveiled new touch-friendly office for Windows Phone devices and Windows Tablets that will come with Windows 10 update. It will be free and bundled w ith Windows 10. As per the demo the new office looks much more powerful and touch-optimized. Microsoft also unveiled a new universal outlook app and the name suggests it will similar feel on all the Windows 10 devices be it Desktop, Phones and Tablets.

Microsoft seems may have  revealed that the mobile version  of Windows 10 may still be called only “ Windows 10” after all. If you search for term “Windows 10″ on Microsoft Lumia sites, you will see the result mentioning the latest Lumia 532 as Windows 10 ready. This does look like a catch though, as other products including Lumia 435 are not mentioned as Windows 10 ready, but we may see the pages getting update soon in near future. So, though we had some evidences like this and this for the “ Windows Mobile 10” naming, may be Microsoft wants to keep it one name for all Windows 10 SKUs in line to the strategy of one Windows.  Lumia 535 India. It seems Lumia 535 is getting strong sales traction, as expected by us. Lumia 535 was finally released in India on 27th November. Now, the Zauba import data reveals that more than half million Lumia 535 has already been imported to India. In January itself, 237,040 units have been shipped to India and we still have more than 10 days left in the month. As per the Zauba report,  India imported lumia 535 worth USD 30,303,313 with total quantity of 502,468. China is the only supplier of lumia 535 .  Bangalore Air Cargo accounted for 31.2% of imports followed by Delhi Air Cargo and Bombay Air Cargo which account for 28.8% and 20.5% of imports respectively.  Though, we have some reservations about Zauba import data as the total given may still be on the lower side.  Yet another unknown Lumia device has passed certification in Indonesia. The product code is RM-1099, that has been revealed for the first time. We have earlier reported RM-1072 and RM-1077 with 5-inch, 720p display passing certification in Indonesia.  RM-1099 remains relatively unknown in the sea of new Lumia devices, Microsoft seems to be preparing.
