VLC‬ beta for Windows Phone picks up dark theme, 720P and music indexation improvements

This afternoon, VLC beta for Windows Phone has received a rather significant update. The favorite video and music player that can handle many formats is quickly adding features and fixes nearly every few days.

Version 1.0.10 is now live in the Store, and we have the full changelog.

 VLC beta (1.0.10)
•Speed improvements while playing lots of songs, playback fixes, improvements in playing 720p on high-end devices
•You can hold albums, tracks, artists instead of tapping the "..." buttons to show the flyout menu
•Improvements in music indexation algorithm, *should* bring local/embedded album covers support (experimental)
•This update also brings an early version of the dark theme support, new icons

This list of changes was posted to Twitter by the developer of VLC for Windows Phone, Thomas Nigro. Besides the current changes, Nigro also notes what is not included in this update:

"Cortana support, Hardware decoding are NOT available in this build. So no need to ask 720p on low-end devices. Not yet."

Finally, Nigro teases us with what is coming next in version 1.0.11:

"The v1.0.11 will feature UI changes/bugfixes, new icons, share button, and more! No release date yet for this version."

It is great to see this app continually improve for those who enjoy the VLC app and service. Grab the latest version now to get up to date from here http://www.windowsphone.com/s?appid=44fa83f7-a98d-4647-b9d4-c35ed729d0c9
