Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14328 for PC and Mobile

On April 22, the Microsoft engineer and corporate vice president announced build 14328 for both PC as well as mobile to Windows insider in fast ring. This version is just next to 14327 so no one should except anything new to mobile version. But according to reports this build has a lot of surprises in bag for PC. According to Gabe Aul he wrote Here’s what’s new in Build 14328 for PC Windows Ink We announced Windows Ink at Build 2016 a few weeks ago as an all-new experience coming with the Windows 10 Anniversary Update later this summer. Starting with today’s build – you can try out the new Windows Ink experience for yourself. Windows Ink puts the power of Windows in the tip of your pen, enabling you to write on your device as you do on paper, creating sticky notes, drawing on a whiteboard, and easily sharing your analog thoughts in the digital world. Windows Ink is also integrated into apps like Maps, Microsoft Edge, and Office. If you have a device with an active pen like the Su...

Microsoft Testing New Windows 10 mobile cumulative patch 10586.122 internally

Image
If you thought Windows 10 Mobile was done with cumulative patches, it appears you were mistaken. Microsoft is now testing a new cumulative update for Windows 10 Mobile internally, and if all goes well, could release the update for Insiders sometime next week. The build in question is 10586.122, and includes bug fixes and other improvements. Like most cumulative patches, this update will not introduce any new features as Windows 10 Mobile is almost ready for release at this point. This update is again only for under-the-hood fixes and improvements to areas such as performance and migration. WinBeta can confirm that a bug affecting the swiping functionality on the keyboard in Microsoft Edge has been fixed, something many Insiders have submitted feedback about over the last few months.   For those curious, the build string for this specific build reads: 10586.122.th2_release_inmarket.160222-1549 As mentioned above, this patch could be released to Insiders a...

Windows 10 Mobile Firmware Updates – 2016/02/25

Image
Hello Windows Insiders! Feedback and firmware.  Two things we know you’re passionate about.  It is with these two things in mind that we bring you good news that will make your participation in the Insider Program even easier. Previously for Insiders, if there was new firmware available for your device you would be required to recover your device to a production image using the Windows Device Recovery Tool and then re-join the Insider ring of your choosing.  This was a painful experience and we listened to your feedback.  That’s why we implemented the Production ring option  in the Windows Insider application.  When we made the first change to enable the Production ring, we also made note that we would work on making it even easier. What is happening today? Today we are launching firmware updates for a few Windows 10 Mobile devices. The Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL will receive this firmware revision [1078.38.16025] i...

Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview Build 14267.1004

Image
Build 14267.1004 is the same build  we released on Friday  but with two very important fixes and one new feature: We fixed the issue  reported by Insiders in Build 14267  where the Lumia 550 no longer charges or connects via USB. If you hit this issue on your Lumia 550 – we have laid out guidance on various methods to  get back into a good state here .We fixed the issue preventing Visual Voicemail notifications from happening. We’re introducing Visual Voicemail for dual-SIM devices such as dual-SIM Lumia 950 XL!  Work for this feature was in Friday’s release but due to the above mentioned bug impacting notifications it was not working correctly. But now the experience should be working as expected. We’ve released an update to the People app that brings back the history feature. For a given contact you communicate with, you can view the interaction, whether by today, yesterday, last week etc. Right now, your Skype messages won’t show up in histor...

windows 10 mobile build 14267 now will keep up to 16 Apps in ROM Simultaneously

The latest version of Windows 10 Mobile, Build 14267, features some improvements to multi-tasking in the OS. The update brings an increase from 8 to 16 in the number of apps that can remain in RAM before the OS shuts down the apps in the background. This is of course mainly useful for high RAM devices such as the Lumia 930 and 950 range, but with more Continuum-capable handsets arriving with 2 GB of RAM should mean even more benefit. Importantly unless the apps have associated background activity this should not result in additional battery drain, though we hope Microsoft have done their home work when it comes to memory allocation and speed of task switching.
