Twitter Gets an update for minor bug fixes.

Image
Recently Twitter received an update in windows store. The only change that we noticed is twitter light blue screen at start up and some minor bug fixes. Twitter's UI was totally changed after users upgraded their Windows phone from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. Now it hardly seems that twitter will again push any update for 2-3 months because there's no major updates is being pushed by twitter either on android and iOS. Now Windows phone users have to wait for a long time to get any additional feature for this app because even if twitter app receives any additional feature then it would probably be first update on Android and iOS platforms. Till be optimistic and we'll update you with latest news about updated store apps.

Microsoft Lumia 535 Review by Dhanunjai Annepaka

Image
Microsoft Lumia 535 Review by Dhanunjai Annepaka The Lumia 535 is Microsoft’s 5-inch follow-up to the disappointing Nokia Lumia 530. The small 4-inch screen makes way for a larger 5-inch display as Microsoft seeks to deliver what it thinks is the definitive budget smartphone. The most sought-after change, though, is the removal of the awful fixed-focus camera. This was rubbish at taking pictures and has thankfully been replaced with a camera that packs both autofocus and an LED flash. The front camera has also had a boost and is now a selfie takers dream, since it packs a decent-sized 5-megapixel sensor. On the surface the Lumia 535 appears to be a great budget phone and with a dual-SIM version available in some regions appears to strike all the right notes. Available SIM-free for under £70 there aren’t many 5-inch smartphones that will beat it on price either. It’s disappointing to see, then, that a handful of careless mistakes cost it d...

Nokia Lumia 525 Review by Ehtesham Hussain

Image
Nokia Lumia 525 Review by Ehtesham Hussain It is short review about the  Nokia Lumia 525 , a great device from Nokia which was released on January 2014 . Lumia 525 is a light weight and very handy device available in four colour  Black, White, Yellow, Red  with screen size 4 inch ( 119.9 x 64 x 9.9 mm) and weight approx  124 g .Its display is  IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors with resolution  480 x 800 pixels (~233 ppi pixel density).  Lumia 525 is internally identical to the 520. It's powered by a 1GHz dual-core Snapdragon  Qualcomm MSM8227 chipset , with integrated Adreno 305 graphics. It is acceptable for such a low-end device, The lone camera can take 5-megapixel stills and 720p videos, but there's no flash. The screen resolution is 480x800 which was common in the early days of Windows Phone, and now feels about right for a 4-inch screen on a low-end phone. The screen isn't nearly as sharp or accurate as...

Microsoft posts full list of Lumia 950 and 950 XL variants receiving firmware updates

Image
Following up on the  release of new firmware  updates for the  Lumia 950  and  Lumia 950 XL  for Windows Insiders on the Production ring, Microsoft has posted a comprehensive list of which operator and device variants should expect fresh firmware in this release. The list, a portion of which you can see below, contains several hundred entries split between various regional and operator variants of the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL — both single-SIM and dual-SIM. Funnily enough, although the list covers more than 500 variants, the AT&T Lumia 950 isn't included among them. If you're curious, you can head to Settings > Extras > Advanced info to view your device's "Manufacturer Name" and "Mobile Operator." From there, you can use those identification numbers to see if your device variant is on the list and ascertain which firmware version you should expect to receive. If you'd like to check your Lumia 950 or 950 XL against the list, be sure ...

Microsoft teases new-super affordable Lumia #More Lumia

Image
Think we’ve had enough Lumias in the mid-low end of the smartphone market? With the Lumia 435, 535, 532, 630, 635, 638, 640, 640 XL, 730, 735 and 830 some would say we have more than enough. Microsoft clearly doesn’t. On the Lumia conversations blog and official  twitter account the firm has posted a teaser for a new super-affordable Lumia device at 8AM UK time. Of course, this could simply be the Lumia 532 being launched in the UK to replace the 530.  it could also be some new lower-end device or perhaps just a spec bump to one of the already very many affordable Lumia devices. Or it may not even be a device at all and  may just be a documentary? Tune in at 8am GMT tomorrow and place your bets. Source: WMPowerUser

Microsoft’s ‘Phone Insider’ app discovered, possibly for Windows 10 for Phones Preview Program

Image
Microsoft will reportedly reveal Windows 10 for Phones (or Windows Mobile 10) at its January 21st event. As you may know, to get access to Windows 10 Technical Preview, users needed to be registered as an ‘insider’. Now a similar “Phone Insider” app has turned up in the Windows Phone Store, published by Microsoft in November 2014.  As the app’s description states, Windows Insiders will be able to receive pre-release OS updates on their phone:  The Phone Insider application provides registered Windows Insiders the ability to receive pre-release OS updates on their phone, directly from Microsoft. For more information about registering and becoming a Windows Insider visit http://insider.windows.com/  Of note it appears this app will also be able to deliver carrier firmware, unlike the Preview for Developers program.  Microsoft hasn’t officially announced anything about the Phone Insider program just yet. However, it might be the replacement for th...

Lumia Moments app now in the Windows Phone Store, does not need Denim

Image
Microsoft Mobile’s new Lumia Moments app, which lets you extract pictures from video, is now available to download from the Windows Phone Store.  The app is intended to extract pictures from 4K video, but seems to work just as well with video from lower resolution, and the results are still quite passable.  The app can also be used to create action shots, but I suspect that feature is of much less interest.  The app installed without issue on my Lumia Cyan Nokia Lumia 930 with the Developer Preview, and may only work on the Lumia 830, Lumia 930, Lumia Icon and Lumia 1520 .  The app can be found in the Windows Phone Store here   ‪#‎SN

LG Copies Microsoft’s Glance Screen Feature In Lumia Devices

Image
Microsoft’s Glance Screen feature allows users to see the time and other lock screen content when their phone is on standby. Users will be able to choose the glance screen mode that suits them and enjoy the perfect balance of power consumption and visibility. Today, LG announced G Flex 2 smartphone at CES and it features Glance View. According to them, Glance View only turns on the part of the OLED display to show you the notification and the time and date. Yes, the same functionality as Glance Screen on Lumia devices. The only difference is that instead of ‘Always On’, users need to do a downward swipe of the curved screen while the display is off to see the content. ‪#‎SN‬
