Top comments on the petition claim, “I want snapchat,” and “Windows phone somehow needs to be known well as other mobile OS.” These petitions are not necessarily new, as back in the Summer of 2015  a similar petition gained over over  43 thousand signatures . While an official Snapchat app is not available though, you should still be careful when you purchase the third-party Snapchat apps seen on the Windows Store. Microsoft will release powerful xbox one in 2017!

Image
Well this was a rumor , but today Microsoft announced that they are working on "Project Scorpio". Project Scorpio is the codename for Microsoft's next Xbox console. Phil Spencer(Head of Microsoft's xbox Department) said that: "we're announcing Project Scorpio today to give our developers and partners the ability to take advantage of that capability now." According to Microsoft, it will have the most powerful GPU ever put into a game console, with 6 teraflops of raw performance -- enough, Microsoft says, to render games at true 4K resolution at a smooth 60 hertz. That's in contrast with the just-announced Xbox One S, which supports 4K video playback but probably won't play games at that resolution. Those are all the details we have on project Scorpio at this time. No other details regarding Project Scorpio have been revealed by Microsoft. Source: Microsoft

Microsoft is purging Terrorism content from its Services.

Image
Microsoft is officially prohibiting users from posting anything that incites terrorist acts on its services, including Xbox Live , Outlook consumer version and document-sharing website  Docs . In a  blog post , the tech giant explained that it's taking these steps, because it has "a responsibility to run [its] various internet services so that they are a tool to empower people, not to contribute, however indirectly, to terrible acts." For Bing, however, the company will only remove links to websites if the authorities demand it. Search engines don't host content, after all, and Microsoft has to respect people's "right to access information." But what exactly constitutes "terrorist content" anyway? Redmond defines it as "material posted by or in support of organizations included on the Consolidated United Nations Security Council Sanctions List  that depicts graphic violence, encourages violent action, endorses a terrorist ...

Microsoft vs Microsoft: The Real Competition

MICROSOFT VS MICROSOFT So the news is out in the tech world. Nokia is making a comeback with its new android powered sets. And this has led to a new topic "Nokia vs Microsoft". The once partners and friends turning enemies. But is Microsoft really in a competition with Nokia or Samsung or Apple? No, they aren't. They are in competition with themselves. They're competing to make the software and hardware better each day. It was definitely a bold move in making w10 "look alike" for both phone and pc with the Universal Apps. Weeks after weeks and builds after builds. Many phones were announced. Few "so called mid rangers" with mediocre specs and bad value for money and two flagships still struggling to find a proper place beyond the windows in a world of flagship killers. Few years back I could see why people loved wp so much. Anyone talking about android around them would be put to shame. The wp user community was big and dedicated. But now all...

Microsoft at its recently held annual Build conference had announced its tool to help developers port legacy Win32/.Net apps to Windows Store. Windows 10 Anniversary Update is scheduled to arrive this summer, and many had already assumed that June or July will be the best time, considering the operating system was officially launched on July 29.There’s sure to be continued skepticism about the value of adopting Windows 10, as it represents a big shift in development approach and deployment. Microsoft Passport and Windows Hello together offer convenient multifactor authentication and enterprise-grade security. However, those users on AT&T with Windows Phone 8.1 devices such as the Lumia 1520, Lumia 830 and the Lumia 640 (Go Phone) are still waiting in the carrier to release the Windows 10 Mobile CB update for their eligible handsets. The screenshots show Microsoft’s “Word Flow for iPhone beta”, which includes custom themes – including the ability to create your own using a photo –...

Microsoft Testing New Windows 10 mobile cumulative patch 10586.122 internally

Image
If you thought Windows 10 Mobile was done with cumulative patches, it appears you were mistaken. Microsoft is now testing a new cumulative update for Windows 10 Mobile internally, and if all goes well, could release the update for Insiders sometime next week. The build in question is 10586.122, and includes bug fixes and other improvements. Like most cumulative patches, this update will not introduce any new features as Windows 10 Mobile is almost ready for release at this point. This update is again only for under-the-hood fixes and improvements to areas such as performance and migration. WinBeta can confirm that a bug affecting the swiping functionality on the keyboard in Microsoft Edge has been fixed, something many Insiders have submitted feedback about over the last few months.   For those curious, the build string for this specific build reads: 10586.122.th2_release_inmarket.160222-1549 As mentioned above, this patch could be released to Insiders a...

Microsoft stores in Brazil Mysteriously being closed

Thanks in part to a tipster, we’ve become aware of a growing situation in Brazil concerning the shuttering of Microsoft-branded stores. Ironically, we reported in early 2015 that Microsoft seemed to be planning to launch a flagship retail store in Sao Paulo, Brazil  based on leaked images stemming from a Microsoft Lumia Brazil account. Technically speaking, the proposed store would have been a rebranding on an already existing Nokia Store located in the Eldorado Mall in Sao Paulo. While news of the rebranded retail store has since simmered from its initial bubbling’s in 2015, it now looks as though Microsoft may be instead capping its retail presence in the area. According to  a report from WindowsMania.com.br , Microsoft may be closing several of its branded stores in Brazil with no clear indication as to why.   Despite Brazil being  a relatively Windows- and Windows Phone-friendly region , it appears that Microsoft is set...
