Pete's personal review of windows 10 ecosystem

It's no surprise to anyone that Microsoft is trying to claw it's way back into a decent market share of the mobile industry. The latest attempt at this is windows 10 for PC AND mobile. So what does this mean for the consumer? In short it means PC and mobile are basically the same OS (Operating System), in theory this should help boost the app ecosystem for all window users both PC and mobile. Let's face it, a big hurdle Microsoft has come up against is the apparent lack of apps for the platform, which has been portrayed in lots of media articles as a 'bad' thing.  Now I have been a windows phone users for many years and I personally have not had an issue with not having enough apps, that's probably most down to the fact I don't play a lot of games on mobile. We do need more of the big players to get official apps rolled out though, and their lies the real app issue. The big players are not developing official apps or at least they take their sweet time about it. That is all about to change.

So we, as windows users, are just on the verge of ushering in a new era for windows eco system with the introduction of windows 10. Microsoft are 'aiming to have 1 billion users by 2018' or their about not 100% sure the exact timeframe. One billion users across PC, Tablets and Mobiles. Now this surely must be getting developers excited, I know I would be if I was a dev. In fact the wave has already begun with Facebook inc finally taking the plunge and writing an official windows 10 Facebook app in fact already in the store. Also a new candy crush jelly saga game. As more developers see the big fish like King, and Facebook Inc, plus many more, get their apps out on windows 10 it is safe to assume more will step up and get moving on it as well.

Is there a light at the end of the tunnel? I would say yes, and it is shining brightly and rapidly getting closer, soon to break out into a glorious world full of wonderful apps.

I enjoyed writing the short, deliberate focus on one topic. If you enjoyed reading please let me know, and I look forward to writing more blogs soon.
