First look : Messaging Everywhere ( beta ) on windows 10 and windows 10 mobile

Microsoft recently announced that a preview of Messaging Everwhere would be arriving soon for Insiders, but here at WinBeta we’ve managed to get an early first look at how the feature works. Unsurprisingly, it works exactly like Skype integration used to work, except instead of using Skype, it uses your cellular connection instead.
Yes, Messaging Everywhere finally brings SMS texting to the desktop, beamed straight from your phone. This feature should arrive in preview form in the next Windows 10 Mobile insider build, which could arrive next week at the earliest. Currently, as the feature is still in beta, it can sometimes be slow/not work at all, but when it does work it works well.

How does it work? Well, using your Microsoft Account, the new Messaging apps sync your conversations to the cloud, and beam them to which-ever device is requesting them. For example, sending a text on your desktop will beam that message to the cloud, then your phone will sync that message and send it via its cellular connection. It happens very quickly too, almost instant.
Accounts with multiple phones/devices have the option to switch between phones in the Settings area of the Messaging app on desktop, which is also pretty handy. We’ve embedded a video above demoing the new feature in action, so check it out!
