Lumia 638 Review:- Cons


In time for major 4G roll-out in India early next year, all manufacturers are launching budget 4G Smartphones. Microsoft has also caught on the trend and launched a budget smartphone with 4G connectivity, Nokia Lumia 638. With a price tag of 8,299 INR, Lumia 638 goes on to become the cheapest 4G smartphone in India.

Lumia 638 Specs

The Nokia Lumia 638 features 4.5-inch FWVGA (480×854 pixels) ClearBlack LCD display with pixel density of 221 PPI. Under the hood lies a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 SoC backed with 1GB of RAM. There is an 8GB of built-in storage with a room for expansion via micro-SD card of up to 128GB. The phone boots Windows 8.1 with Lumia Denim update and is upgradable to Windows 10.
For photography, there is a 5-megapixel rear camera with autofocus. However, there is no front-facing camera for selfies and video chat. Connectivity options include WiFi, GPS, EDGE, 3G, Bluetooth and 4G for Indian networks. Other features include includes ‘SensorCore’, low-power motion sensing for fitness apps.

The Windows phone gets its juice from 1830mAh battery. To promote its 4G budget smartphone, Lumia 638 has tied up with Airtel to offer 5GB of free data on 4G for 2 months post activation of their Airtel connection on the new Lumia 638. The offer however is valid only for Bengaluru users and is available until March 31st

Cons

  • No Front Camera( Lumia 535 and 730 have 5mp)
  • Low Resolution
  • No Camera Flash( Lumia 535 and 730 have single led flash)
  • Small screen ( Users will hardly use 3 colum  tile styles)
  • Cannot play 1080p videos Smoothly (Needs Moliplayer)
If you have budget to buy Lumia 730. I will recoment lumia 730 ...... If you have to choose between lumia 535 and 638 then it depends on the cons.....
