WhatApp confirms WhatsApp Calling for Windows Phone “still in the works”

WhatsApp currently offers  VOIP calling to their Android users, with iPhone users still waiting due to “platform restrictions.”
The good news for Windows Phone users is that WhatsApp support has now confirmed that the company is working on bringing the feature to Windows Phone also.
In a response by their support team they said:

From: support@whatsapp.com
Hi,
Thanks for your message.
WhatsApp Calling for your platform is still in the works. Unfortunately, we cannot comment on any future release timelines but we appreciate your interest in WhatsApp Calling.

Who knows, if we are lucky, we may get the feature before even the iPhone does, just like the ability to send WhatsApp messages from the desktop arrived on Windows Phone before iOS.
